Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

3 cups chicken broth

1 cup uncooked wild rice

2 carrots, diced

1 onion, diced

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Place the chicken, chicken broth, wild rice, carrots, onion, thyme, oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper into a slow cooker. Stir to combine.

2. Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and the wild rice is tender.

3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick and creamy.

4. Stir the cream mixture into the slow cooker and stir to combine.

5. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until heated through.

6. Serve with crusty bread.
